About this website
This website presents software projects and photographs. There are no user accounts, contact forms, newsletters, or analytics and marketing tools. The operator does not carry out automated decision-making, including profiling.
Hosting and server logs
Hetzner Online GmbH
Industriestr. 25
91710 Gunzenhausen
Germany
The website runs on a server we administer, provided by Hetzner Online GmbH in a data centre in Germany. Hetzner provides the server and network and processes the resulting connection data on our behalf.
When you access the website, the web server necessarily processes your IP address, the date and time, the requested page or file, and the details your browser sends along, such as the referring page (referrer) and browser identifier (user agent). This data is used only to deliver the content and is not stored in access logs.
This processing delivers the website, ensures stable operation, and detects and prevents errors and attacks. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is the secure and reliable operation of the website.
Only if a technical error occurs while handling a request may the server's error message contain your IP address and the requested address. Such error logs are deleted within 14 days. There are no visitor statistics.
Storing display preferences
If you explicitly choose a light or dark theme, the preference is stored under the key “theme” in your browser's localStorage. Only the value “light” or “dark” is stored, not a visitor identifier. Without your own selection, the display follows your system preference and no new theme preference is stored. If you switch between the single and grid view in a photo gallery, the chosen view is stored under the key “galleryView”, with only the value “sequence” or “grid”.
The preference is stored solely to retain your chosen display on subsequent page visits. It is not used for tracking or advertising and is not transmitted to third parties. Storage and access provide the display functions you explicitly requested under Section 25(2)(2) of the German TDDDG.
The entries have no automatic expiry. They remain until you change the preference or delete the website data in your browser. The website can also be used without this storage.
Contact by email
If you contact us by email, we process your email address, your name if provided, the message content, and any other information you supply in order to handle your enquiry. Messages are received and stored using netcup's email hosting.
The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is responding to and handling your enquiry. Where your enquiry concerns entering into or performing a contract with you, the legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR.
Messages are deleted once the matter has been resolved and the data is no longer needed. Statutory retention requirements and necessary retention for establishing, exercising, or defending legal claims remain unaffected.
Local content and external links
Fonts, images, and website scripts are served from our own server. No external fonts, embedded social media content, or GitHub API data are loaded in visitors' browsers. No analytics or marketing cookies are used.
Links to GitHub, Instagram, project websites, Sharpness Solutions, and Hetzner information are ordinary external links. You access those websites only when you follow the links. Each provider is responsible for processing data on its website and its own privacy information applies.
Your rights
Subject to the statutory conditions, you have rights of access (Article 15 GDPR), rectification (Article 16), erasure (Article 17), restriction of processing (Article 18), and data portability (Article 20). You can exercise your rights by contacting us using the details above.
Where processing relies on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, you may object under Article 21 GDPR on grounds relating to your particular situation. We will no longer process the data concerned unless we demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds overriding your interests, rights, and freedoms, or the processing is needed to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
Under Article 77 GDPR, you may lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, particularly in the place of your habitual residence, place of work, or the alleged infringement. The competent supervisory authority for the operator is the State Commissioner for Data Protection of Lower Saxony, Germany.
Providing data
Technical connection data must be transmitted to access the website. Without this data, the web server cannot deliver the requested content. Contacting us by email is voluntary; without the necessary details, we may be unable to respond to your enquiry.
